A community summer party to remember!

On Tuesday 16th June, we held a summer party at Trinity, to bring members of our community together for a fun afternoon of food, games and conversation.

This year, our event was held in conjunction with Loneliness Awareness Week, the theme of which was Giving Loneliness a Voice. We shared a guest post with Marmalade Trust ahead of the event, sharing why we support Loneliness Awareness Week and how our events encourage connection across the local community. This year's summer event was organised and hosted by our wonderful Admin Manager, Jackie, who always works super hard to make sure our events so smoothly and everyone has a good time. This event was no exception! Thanks also to our Centre Director, Paul Chelliah, and to Collins, Dana and Bhavani. We really appreciate Amina, Natalie, Habiba for cooking all the delicious food and Saiqa for her help in the kitchen. If you enjoyed a carrot cake at the party, then you have Saroja and Mary to thank - they made more than 100 individual carrot cakes for everyone to enjoy! Thanks also to the ladies from our EKTA project gave up their time to greet everyone on arrival, to make sure every guest felt welcome. It was a real community effort, and we're so grateful to everyone who helped to make this event a success.

This was one of our most popular events, with more than 100 people coming together to enjoy a summer meal of burgers and chips, followed by ice cream for dessert. Everyone enjoyed the bingo, especially the two winners! Many people also won some wonderful prizes in our always popular raffle.

Our resident DJ Collins played all afternoon, and everyone enjoyed the music with a few people getting up to dance.

We're looking ahead now to autumn/winter, to more events to bring everyone together!
