This summer, we held a celebration event for all members of our community to come together and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.

Our Day Centre was beautifully decorated for the occasion, with posters including some individual stories of those who lived through this time 80 years ago.

Our community was well represented at the event, from young to old, and people from many different community groups attended and enjoyed refreshments on arrival, followed by a delicious lunch that catered for everyone.
The Bingo game was a big hit, with a member of our EKTA group winning the main prize of a £25 voucher. In the afternoon, we held a raffle and many prizes were won. Everyone enjoyed coming together with music and dancing and entertainment from community members.

The highlight of the day was a lovely poetry reading from a young girl, the daughter of one of the ladies in our Behnu-Ki-Milan group. She had written two poems dedicated to Trinity. One for Jackie, our Admin Manager, thanking her for all her love, empathy, dedication and commitment in helping the group members for all these years and the other for all the staff and volunteers, thanking them for their kind help and support.

We were also touched by a moving speech from Nicholas, a client of Satash Community Care, who also thanked us for the hard work and dedication of Trinity Centre staff and volunteers for their group over the years. When he finished, he encouraged everyone to stand and clap for us to show their appreciation.

It was a wonderful celebration, thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Zebe Kazmi, Behnu-Ki-Milan's group leader said that the event was, "a truly memorable and meaningful day of celebration."
And we are looking forward to more to come this autumn/winter!
